Motherhood is full of questions — but when anxiety takes over, even the smallest decisions can feel impossible.
If you’re constantly stuck in your own head, spiraling through “what-ifs,” second-guessing every choice, and wondering why your brain just won’t turn off — you’re not alone.
These anxious thoughts can feel relentless, as if your mind is always racing, trying to predict every possible outcome. It’s like being caught in a loop, where you can’t quite escape the constant questioning of every decision, from the smallest to the biggest, and wondering if you’re doing enough as a mom.
This is a common experience for many moms, especially when anxiety is involved. It can feel impossible to find peace of mind when your thoughts are spinning nonstop. But the truth is, you don’t have to keep living in that mental whirlpool.
Therapy can help you break the cycle, find clarity, and regain control over your thoughts and feelings.
What You Can Expect In Therapy
I offer brief, solution-focused therapy — because when you’re overwhelmed, you don’t need another long, draining commitment. You need real tools that work now.
Together, we’ll get to the root of what’s fueling your anxiety and start calming the chaos in your mind with the use of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques.
This is focused, practical support to help you feel more like yourself again, so you can get back to showing up for your kids in the way you want to — not in survival mode.
Here’s what that looks like:
- We’ll identify the thoughts that are keeping you stuck and understand where they come from.
- I’ll teach you practical tools — using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) — to interrupt the cycle and manage your anxiety in real-time.
- We’ll shift the patterns of overthinking, perfectionism, and people-pleasing that fuel your stress.
- You’ll learn how to respond to challenges with more calm, clarity, and confidence.
- We’ll focus on what’s happening right now — so you can start feeling better sooner.
This isn’t about becoming a different person. It’s about learning how to stop fighting your anxious self and start working with it in a way that makes life feel manageable again.
What Is CBT? (And Why It Actually Works)
CBT stands for cognitive behavioural therapy — which is just a fancy way of saying we look at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are all connected, and learn how to shift them so anxiety doesn’t run your life.
What I love about CBT is that it’s quick, effective, and produces actual results when it comes to managing anxiety. It’s never about ignoring your anxiety or pretending everything’s fine. It’s about understanding how your mind works so you can respond to your anxious thoughts instead of getting swept up in them — and this gives you more control over your life.
Here’s how we might use it in session:
Let’s say you’re questioning whether or not you should start sleep training your baby. Your mind starts racing: “I don’t want to mess up our attachment. But if I don’t get sleep, I’m not going to be a good mom. I don’t know what to do!” That spiral leads to confusion, self-doubt, and frustration — making it harder to make a decision that feels right for you.
With CBT, we slow that moment down. We look at the thought (“I’m a bad mom if I don’t sleep train”), the feeling (guilt, frustration), and the behavior (avoiding the decision, feeling stuck). Then we practice shifting the thought to something more true and helpful — like “I don’t have to sleep train to be a good mom. I can prioritize my own sleep while still being loving and attentive to my baby. My well-being matters, and I can choose a path that works for us.” Over time, those shifts help you feel more in control and less stuck.
Moms love CBT because it’s practical, it’s empowering, and it works. You don’t just vent — you learn real skills to help your anxious brain feel safer and more steady.
What A Session Looks Like
Therapy with me is collaborative, structured, and designed to give you something useful every time we meet.
Here’s what you can expect in a typical 50-minute session:
- We start by checking in on what’s been weighing on you — whether it’s anxious spirals, parenting overwhelm, or a situation that’s been keeping you up at night.
- I’ll help you untangle the anxious thoughts that are running the show, so you can see them more clearly (and stop believing every single one of them).
- Together, we’ll figure out where those patterns are coming from, and I’ll teach you practical, evidence-based tools to interrupt the cycle and respond differently.
- You’ll leave each session feeling more grounded, more capable, and like you actually know what to do next.
There’s always space to vent. Sometimes you need to say things out loud to understand how heavy they are.
But therapy with me isn’t just about unloading.
It’s about getting curious, making connections, and taking meaningful steps toward change, so things actually start to feel better.
Who I Work With
I support moms in all stages — pregnancy, postpartum, toddler years, school-age, and beyond — because anxiety doesn’t have a timeline.
Whether you are:
- obsessing over your baby’s sleep or feeding
- panicking about screwing up your kids
- trying to hold it all together while feeling like you’re falling apart inside
- constantly googling symptoms, milestones, or parenting advice at 2 a.m.
- feeling like you can’t enjoy the moment because you’re always bracing for something to go wrong
- worrying that your anxiety is ruining your relationship or your ability to parent
- overthinking every conversation, reaction, or choice you made that day
- putting everyone else first and feeling resentful, burnt out, or invisible
…therapy can give you the tools to stop spiraling, build your confidence, and come back to yourself.
The Practical Stuff
- Sessions are online – No commute, no childcare scramble. Just log in from home — sweats, baby monitor, and all.
- Each session is 50 minutes – Long enough to dig in, short enough to fit into your already-full day.
- No referral needed – You don’t have to wait for things to get worse. If anxiety is making motherhood feel harder than it should, you’re allowed to get support now.
- Flexible scheduling – I offer appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays that can work around nap time, school runs, or when you finally have a moment to yourself.

FAQ
How much do your sessions cost and will my insurance cover them?
Great question. I charge $170 per 50 minute session. Each session is to be paid for at the beginning of the session and you will receive an email receipt with all the information you will need for insurance reimbursement. While credit cards are required to have on file to book sessions, my preferred method of payment is Interac e-transfer. (But we can talk all about this in our first session!)
As for whether your insurance will cover the cost, this is something you would need to double check with them before we begin. Most insurance companies that cover the cost of a Psychologist are able to cover the cost of a Registered Clinical Counsellor (me!). I'm happy to chat more about this and make sure we have it all sorted before beginning our work together.
Yes, I do! I’m deeply committed to understanding the unique mental health challenges that come with motherhood, which is why I’ve pursued additional training in maternal mental health. This specialized training has equipped me with a deeper understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges that Mamas face, from postpartum adjustments to balancing identity shifts and everything in between. My goal is to offer support tailored specifically to the needs of mothers, providing a safe space to explore these experiences and navigate them with compassion and care.Do you have training in maternal mental health?
Some people find weekly sessions helpful, while others prefer to meet once a month. Don’t worry, though—we’ll discuss what feels best for you during our first session and create a plan that aligns with your needs and goals. How often should I see you?
I’m currently available for sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. At this time, I don’t have a waitlist, so you can book an appointment as soon as you’re ready! Feel free to check my calendar for the next available time that works for you. What is your availability?
You can either browse my calendar here to find the next available appointment that fits your schedule or reach out through the contact form if you have any questions before booking your first session. I’m happy to help! How do I book a session?
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that our first session is all about getting to know each other. It’s a space for you to share what’s bringing you here, what’s been on your heart, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your story, and together, we’ll explore what support looks like for you. By the end of our session, we’ll have a plan — whether that’s setting some initial goals, identifying areas to focus on, or simply creating a space where you feel heard and validated. There’s no pressure, no rush—just a conversation to help us figure out the best path forward for you. What will the first session be like?
